FAQs
Where are you located?
We live in Fairfax, VA, and primarily serve the D.C., Maryland, and Northern Virginia area.
Are you willing to travel?
Yes! Our services are not just limited to D.C., Maryland, and Northern Virginia. We love to find excuses to travel. Our travel fees are applied to locations more than 100 miles from Northern Virginia.
Will there be a second shooter?
For weddings, yes. Cindy acts as the second shooter (among all the other things she does). For all other formats, Brian is primarily the one behind the camera and Cindy is the Creative Director.
What kind of gear do you use?
Brian has what is referred to as Gear Acquisition Syndrome (yes, GAS). With that said, we make sure we have the proper tools to get the job done. We are Nikon users and have a wide array of cameras, lenses, and lighting equipment.
Do I have to order prints through you?
No, but we strongly encourage you to go through us. We have our own vendor we work with to make sure the quality of the prints matches that of the photo's true resolution.
How long do sessions last?
It depends since every session is different. However, we always try to work with your individual needs. Sessions typically last between 1-3 hours unless it is a wedding or an event.
How do we pick a location?
We can help with this if you like! We can make recommendations based on what you are looking for and we always try to scout the location ahead of time. We can also come to you with our mobile studio, especially for newborns and/or babies.
What should I wear?
We can provide wardrobe consultation regardless of the type of session. For information on the number of outfit changes allowed, please see the 'Investment' page.
Do you offer mini sessions?
Yes, but it depends on the type of shoot. A few examples include holiday cards and corporate headshots. Mini sessions typically last 30-45 minutes.
Do you provide every image you take?
No, we do not. We eliminate duplicate images, test shots, missed focused shots, shots with bad expressions and other images that may make the overall product suffer.
Do you have a contract we sign?
Yes, we will provide that to you prior to making any commitments.
Do you shoot in JPEG or RAW?
We only shoot in RAW to allow for more creative post processing flexibility.
Can I reschedule?
Yes, but only once. After that you would need to book a new session. You will lose your deposit if you reschedule more than once.
